You can even go in and make further changes at any point. Customise mark-up, images, description, meta data and much more.

Can I add my own products?
You sure can, after all, it’s your website, you can add whatever products you wish.

No, it works in the same way as any outsourcing — you can choose to fulfil orders in-house if you wish. Should you wish to send them to a supplier, it’s a really easy process.
Can I add my own suppliers?
Yes, you can add as many suppliers as you like, although you will only be able to send orders (or parts of orders) via email to them. You will not be able to import their product range as this is a more complex process.

Can we change pricing?
Yes, you can sell at any price you wish. This includes products that are imported from suppliers where you choose a percentage to mark-up the product by.
Why are supplier products marked up a percentage?
This is so that if a supplier was to increase the price of a product, you would still be profitable.
Can I send a product from one supplier to a different supplier
Unfortunately not, this is due to the fact that suppliers work off of unique identifiers for their products so should an item go to a different supplier, they would not know what the item was.
Will / can orders be sent to Suppliers automatically?
No, you will receive an automatic email notification. You can then log into the Admin Area to process the order how you wish.

How do I pay for the site?
VB Media subscriptions are billed monthly and payment is collected by Direct Debit, making it simple and hassle-free to manage your account.
Is there a minimum contract length?
No. VB Media is provided on a rolling monthly subscription, so there's no minimum contract term.
We understand that businesses change and their requirements can evolve over time. That's why we don't believe you should be tied into a long-term contract if the platform is no longer the right fit for your business.
How is payment made?
All payments are collected by Direct Debit.
For subscription services, an invoice is issued on the 2nd of each month. For one-off charges, invoices are issued as required. Payment is then collected under your Direct Debit mandate, typically 3–5 working days after the invoice date.
Can I pay quarterly or annually instead of monthly?
No. All VB Media subscriptions are billed monthly.
Keeping all subscriptions on a monthly billing cycle allows us to offer a simple, transparent pay-as-you-go service with no long-term commitment or upfront costs.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Admin Area.
Simply navigate to your tier / subscription settings and follow the cancellation process. As VB Media is a rolling monthly subscription, there are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees.
Do you charge a percentage on each order?
No. We don't charge any commission or take a percentage of your sales.
Your monthly subscription covers the use of the VB Media platform, and that's the only fee we charge. Any revenue you generate through your website is yours to keep.
Please note that if you accept online card payments, your chosen payment provider (such as Stripe) may apply their own transaction fees.
Do you include hosting?
Yes. VB Media is a fully hosted solution, so you don't need to arrange your own web hosting or manage a server. We take care of the hosting and infrastructure, allowing you to focus on running your business.
Can I have VB Media on my own server?
No. VB Media is a fully hosted solution and isn't available for installation on customer-owned servers.
By hosting all VB Media websites within our managed infrastructure, we're able to provide consistent performance, security, updates, backups, and technical support, ensuring your website remains reliable and up to date.
Is it built with WordPress?
No. VB Media is built entirely in-house and is not based on WordPress.
Building our own platform gives us complete control over its features, performance, and ongoing development. It also avoids many of the common issues associated with WordPress websites, such as reliance on third-party plugins, plugin compatibility problems, and the need for frequent core and plugin updates to maintain security.
How secure is my data?
We take data security seriously.
Your data is stored on a professionally managed, cloud-based database platform with built-in redundancy, encryption, and high availability. Access is tightly controlled and restricted to authorised systems and personnel only, with additional network security measures in place to help protect your data.
We continually monitor and maintain our infrastructure to ensure your data remains secure, reliable, and available.
Will my site have an SSL/TLS certificate?
Yes. Every VB Media website includes an SSL/TLS certificate as standard at no additional cost.
Your website is served exclusively over HTTPS, ensuring that data transmitted between your website and your visitors is encrypted and secure. This helps protect customer information and provides the level of security users expect from a modern website.
Can I tailor the system to work the way I want?
VB Media is an off-the-shelf platform, designed to provide a robust, proven solution that works well for a wide range of businesses.
Because the platform is shared across all customers, core functionality and business processes can't be customised on an individual basis. This allows us to continually improve the platform, deliver new features, and provide reliable support without introducing compatibility issues.
If your business requires highly specific workflows, integrations, or bespoke functionality, contact us to discuss our Enterprise solutions. We'll be happy to explore whether a customised solution is the right fit for your business.
Can I have a timeframe for features you've agreed to develop?
Unfortunately, we can't provide guaranteed delivery dates for new features.
Our development roadmap is intentionally flexible so we can respond quickly to higher-priority work, such as resolving bugs, addressing security updates, or making improvements that benefit all customers. As priorities can change, it's not possible to accurately estimate when a particular feature will be completed.
Rest assured that agreed features remain on our roadmap, and we'll keep you informed when they're available.
How do you store passwords?
We never store passwords in plain text, and no one at VB Media has access to an original password.
All passwords are stored using secure cryptographic hashing, with a unique salt applied to each password before it is hashed. This ensures that even if two users choose the same password, the stored values are completely different.
This approach follows industry best practices for protecting user credentials.
Will a new website instantly increase my sales?
No. A website on its own won't increase your sales.
A website is a valuable sales and marketing tool, but it's only one part of the bigger picture. To generate enquiries and orders, you'll still need to market your business, build relationships with customers, and drive traffic to your website.
What a great website does is make it easier for customers to do business with you. It gives them a professional, accessible place to browse your products, request quotes, and place orders whenever it suits them. It also showcases your full range of products and services, increasing the chances that customers will discover products they may not have otherwise considered.
Many customers will continue to order through your existing sales channels, and that's perfectly normal. Your website is there to support your sales efforts, strengthen your online presence, and create more opportunities - not replace the relationships you've already built.
So, why even bother with a website?
Because your customers expect one.
A professional website gives your business credibility and provides customers with a convenient way to discover your products and services. It works around the clock, allowing customers to browse, request quotes, and place orders whenever it's convenient for them.
Your website also becomes a central hub for your marketing. Whether customers find you through Google, social media, email campaigns, or recommendations, they'll almost always visit your website before deciding to do business with you.
For existing customers, it makes ordering faster and easier. For new customers, it showcases the quality of your business and the full range of products and services you offer - many of which they may never have known about otherwise.
A website won't replace your sales efforts, but it will support them by making it easier for customers to find you, trust you, and do business with you.
What will be my ROI?
It's impossible to put a fixed return on investment on a website because its success depends on how you use it.
Think of your website like your phone or email - it's a business tool, not an investment that generates income on its own. It's a channel through which existing and potential customers can discover your business, browse your products, request quotes, and place orders.
The return comes from the effort you put into promoting your business. Marketing, referrals, search engines, social media, email campaigns, and your sales team all help drive customers to your website. Once they're there, your website makes it easier for them to engage with your business and buy from you.
A well-designed website won't replace your sales and marketing activities, but it will make them more effective by giving customers a professional, accessible place to do business with you.
Can I just set it up and leave it?
You can - but you shouldn't expect it to deliver results.
Your business changes over time, and your website should reflect that. New products, updated services, recent projects, customer testimonials, and fresh content all help keep your website relevant and useful.
An outdated website can give the impression that your business is no longer active or that your product range hasn't evolved. On the other hand, a regularly maintained website gives customers confidence that your business is current, engaged, and ready to help.
The more accurately your website represents your business, the more effective it will be as a sales and marketing tool.
